Pakistan announce team for Women’s World Cup in India

KARACHI: Pakistan announced a 15-member squad on Wednesday for the Women’s Cricket World Cup in Mumbai, India starting from January 26 – February 17.
Sana Mir was retained as captain while Bisma Maroof is the vice captain. Uncapped Diana Baig has been included and Sidra Ameen has been retained while Marina Iqbal has been dropped.
Pakistan qualified for the World Cup after finishing behind West Indies in the 2011 Women’s World Cup qualifiers and last played ODIs in August in the tri-series which featured Ireland and Bangladesh
Pakistan are in Group B with Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and will play their first match on January 31 against Australia.
Squad: Syeda Nain Fatima Abidi, Nida Rashid, Javeria Wadood,  Sidra Amin,  Rabia Shah, Syeda Batool Fatima Naqvi (WK), Asmavia Iqbal, Qanita Jalil, Sumaiya Siddiqui, Sadia Yousaf, Elizebath Barkat,  Nahida Bibi, Sana Mir, Bisma Maroof and Diana Baig.
